Of moles and rats!

The starcast itself is staggering!

Jack Nicholson

Martin Sheen

Mark Wahlberg

Matt Damon

Leonardo DiCaprio

What more can one want??

And who better to make a film with this gang other than themaster of mobster movies, Martin Scorsese!

Also, when a film starts with Jack Nicholson’s voiceasserting “I don’t wanna be a product of my environment, I want my environmentto be a product of me.”, u know u are gonna have a treat!

Jack Nicholson’s character, Frank Costello is devilincarnate. He does what he does best. And that is to arch those eyebrows and deliverdialogs as only he can!

Then there is Matt Damon, Frank’s li’l boy, Colin Sullivan, in an exponential climb through the police ranks, all the while being Jack’sinside man in the dept. He’s done an ok job of portraying the smart-assachiever. Not bad, mind u, but compared to the other performances, he’s doneok.

Leonardo DiCaprio did a splendid job in the Aviator, everyone knows. He’s bettered it here, as Billy Costigan, a deep-undercovercop, known only to Captain Queenan(Martin Sheen) and Sgt Dignam (Mark Wahlberg). The fact that he connects with the audience, despite the lack of dialogs for his character is in itself proof enough of his powerful and intense peformance. Inmy opinion, the film Leo had beenwaiting for. His best so far.

Mark Wahlberg’s Sgt Dignam is probably the character withthe best lines in the film! And the way he delivers is awesome! U crave to seemore of him!

Martin Sheen as Captain of the State Police is good, butfelt a li’l weird, seeing him working out of his Oval office!

But all these performances were possible because of Martin Scorsese.A come-back of sorts for him, Martin kept the theme of gangsters and mobsters, but just moved from the Italian background to the American. And has he been successful!

Also, thank god the Censors didn’t beep out the f-words and the c-words!Otherwise the movie would’ve been all beeps and no dialogs! But all this profanityis handled with such a finesse that u actually feel really cool about it. Also, the basic theme is the usual Cop-n-robbers-mole-in-both theme. But the panacheand a super tight script makes it an absolute classy film. The movie isviolent. Very violent. But that’s whatMartin Scorsese does best!

All in all,   a classyoffering from a classy director with a classy cast! By far the best film of theyear till now. Get tickets and watch it, ppl!

DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!
