Being a crazy movie buff, Im always on a lookout for good movies and specially the ones based on a true story. The trailer was interesting and got me all excited right away. So yesterday I finally watched it and I have to admit that Im still in awe.
The movie is based on a true story, a rescue mission in 1952 by US coast guard to save the people stuck on an oil tanker destroyed by one of the most insane storms ever. Even though CGI plays a crucial role in the movie, I felt that the story was the real hero. Story of real people in unbelievable circumstances and the whole team has done a marvelous job of depicting the undying spirit of human beings. The scenes of the storm will give you chills down the spine. The direction, acting, everything was just superb.
The actors in pivotal roles are Eric Bana, Chris Pine(as Bernie Webber), Casie Affleck. With such an amazing talented cast, you can imagine the quality of acting in the movie. The director is Craig Gillespie who has so brilliantly brought this mind blowing story on screen.
Awe-inspiring, engaging, I can come up with more adjectives but take my word and go for this movie. It was a truly inspiring experience.
First Airlift and now this movie, it surely makes me wonder if reality truly is stranger than fiction.
Anyways I give five stars to this movie. Im no movie expert, but I believe it is one of the best movies Ive watched in a while.
