Well I’m a superhero fan and love to swing between DC comics and Marvel every time one out beats the other giving more to their respective universe. It was high time DC had to give something for the fan boys as nothing other than Batman and Superman rebooted made much impact and Marvel is easily taking over the entertainment world.
But to my surprise after watching “The Flash” it is very clear that DC have made a big mistake at every level possible, episode after episode “The Flash” just keeps getting cheesy and dumber, treating the viewers as silly( yup as a cinephile I take it as a personal insult). The writing which was supposed to be tight but you know it’s worse than ever, there is no depth in the character and everything is explained so often makes it redundant and the entire plot seems skippable.
This quality does not match up to any of the Marvel movies and also not what I was expecting from DC that too in the year 2014. But my younger cousin enjoys the show as only thing he understands is how quick the flash and keeps running around the house not more(haha). This content is a typical spoon fed stuff without much left for imagination and it’s easier to create bad meta humans for every episode as everything is just hooked towards a 9 month old catastrophy that happened with a particle accelerator.
Barry Allen, our lighting struck Flash wakes up after 9 months turns out to be a good Meta human but others did not. There is a question here: Where were the other Meta humans before Barry woke up? Who stopped them? Also the science lab is run by kids(just 2) is another NO NO! See everything is simply laughable as right from the pilot of the show this was just simply horrible.
The melodramatic people around The Flash is something that would make me run my head through the screen and the cliché’ are easy detected and sometimes I call Flash as the Forever Alone Troll. I am very sorry but they killed a superhero on TV. The Best part of the show is even if you leave it on play mode and come after 15 mins, you know you wouldn’t have missed much, thanks for its writers. So mostly from the 16 episodes I saw everything is forgettable and I won’t be watching any more of it I guess! Time to tune into Marvel’s Daredevil. Go Marvel Go!
