Two giants of martial arts first time came together in the movie **THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM.
As a great fan of Jackie chan I rush to the theater to see the first show. The story is some thing like this - -
SCENE 1 :
An american teenager (Michael Angarano) who has been to much obsessed with hongkong and kung-fu cinemas makes an unexpected visit to ancient china.
This guy who borrow this martial arts movies on rent from a chinese shop, whose owner is Jackie chan (an old man). One day while returning those cd’s he came to see a golden stick in the shop. His curisuity makes him to enter the room where the stick was kept, at the time he holds the stick jackie buzz him from back and told him to keep it back as it was a legendry stick of monkey king.
At the same night some guys plan to theft on the same shop from where he bought this CDs.
This guys threaten Michael to help them, jackie was gunned down by the burglars. Michael try to protest them but being helpless he ran away with the golden staff. The burglers follow him to kill, but at some location micahel reach to a top of building and jumps from there...
SCENE 2:
Michael open his eyes and see himself surrounded by chinese people, he was now in china.
Both michael and the audience are shocked by the situation....
Here, he meets the drunken kungfu master, Jackie Chan, an enigmatic and skillful Silent Monk Jet Li, and a vengeance kungfu beauty, Golden Sparrow, who lead him on his quest to return the staff to its rightful owner, The monkey King (Jackie chan).
Monkey king was turned to statue by the evil Jade Warlord for five hundred years, jade the combat falsely by provoking monkey king to battle without the staff. This staff was then thrown to far distance which was kept in jackie chan shop.
Jade has some demons who serve him on the lure of elxir which will make them immortal.
Micahael who knows kung-fu only in movies come to learn this art with the help of the sage (jet lee) and drunken master (jackie).
It’s micahael’s responsibility to place the golden staff on to the monkey king’s statue.
All four of them reached to the palace where this evil stayed and handed the staff to monkey king which turn him alive. This time he defeat the evil Jade. Golden Sparrow died in this battle, the sage (jetli) was produced from monkey king’s hair turned to hair again after the mission accomplished.
Michael get back to his city through a divine door, and defeat those burglars and the old man (shop owner) who has been shooted was the drunken master. He survived from the trauma as he had drunken the elxir which make him immortal.
So finally I ended up here... not much pleased by watching this movie. You will not find much comedy action action which is the best part of jackie’s movie.
The direction and picturisation was pretty good.
