We visited Jaisalmer on holiday towards the end of December, 2015 and choose to stay in this property since I have value the qualuity and high standard of experiences for which Taj properties are known for.
Not this one. I couldnt believe this is a Taj Hotel- not from the physical preperty itself, not from the decor, not for the quality of food and its presentation or from any angel at all! May be expect in Pricing!
I will get this clear- that Im critical of only of the pricing for the value they are delivering and they are spreading wrong expecation of value using the Tah name while using the Taj name to get the price upfront.
This would be great hotel at half the price.
Located very close to the railway station. Very clean and have a very good view of Jaisalmer from the rooftop spacious enough for lazing or lazy walks!
Facilities involve swimming pool, a gym and a baby carom board! I would have expected at least a Table tennis board or facility for badminton in such a remote place.
We hired a car from the hotel and for 4 hours, we were charged Rs. 1700!
The food is clean and decent. Unfortunately it lives upto neither taste of Rajasthan or for that matter of any uniquie standard generally!
The rooms have the decor of Havelli but it gives a sense that the purpose of doing that is more to save cost that to give a customer a unique experience. The comfort and elegance was no where near what I would expect from a Taj Hotel.
The staff of very cordial and service oriented and very pleasant. The goodness in them was could be seen in their eyes and wholeself!
Overall, I felt that this hotel was way too over priced and if the name Taj was not attached to it in their web site, I wouldnt have decided to stay there. In the property the name Taj is missing and I asked the manager if indeed it is a Taj preperty and he said, Yes!
If the rates were 30-40% cheaper, I would have rated this hotel well.
Its a rip off!
