I have been a regular visitor to this place for about 6-7 years now, and I must say, it has a certain longevity to itself, other contemporaries have long faded into the grey distances of memory.
Like the phoenix, it resurrects itself every few years, the current period though being a stagnant, dull one...a lull before the storm?
Regulars include the MTV types, film makers, writers, cinematographers, wannabe groupies and random hotties.
The crowds or the lack of them are a study in contrast with people from from theri late 40s to late teens.
The liquor is reasonable on the cost though not cheap, and the place inspite of being a little staid, still has a good collection of different hooches, including beers etc.
This place has some amazing retro music and you could be listening to The Doors to Aqua Lung by Jethro Tull to a very contemporary matchbox 20 or Creed.
Food is insipd, though they give free peanuts only gratis.
All said and done the graffiti becomes passe sooner than you would think, it is a dark, dank, quaint place that has the warmth of an english pub and the brazen feel of a dungeon at the same time.
It scores on its ability to attract the arty and generation X crowd.
