I had a chance to see the movie very reccently and now I repent to having wasted my money. Many of my friends had watched the movie and said it was excellent so I thought why shouldnt I go for it and I did watch it.I am a lover of horror movies and truly this is one of the worst horror movies I had seen(personal opinion). The story is quite uninterstin, the direction is nt that good, the dialogues are poor and there is hardly any sound effects in it, the only sound which can be treated as sound effect is the occational grinding sound which is expected to scare you.I came to know from my friends that this movie is based on a japnese movie. The movie may not be appealing for all.I always got a feeling that it was a low budget movie.
The movie basically revolves around a modest house in japan which is supposed to be cursed.Anyone who enters the house will be brutally killed by the devil or whatever.....An american lady(sarah michelle) agrees to nurse an old woman because her real nurse did not come(the nurse was killed ).The lady enters the house and Then she finds this wide eyed japnese kid whose name was ashiko or some thinh like that. All devilish things start to happen from then.Further investigations by sarah tells us that Both his parents were dead. And we begin to get a feeling this boy is the devil(you hardly get to see him more than 5 times). Then chain of devilish things sets on motion a police officer gets killed when he tried to set the houseon fire. the ladys boyfriend too gets killed in another attempt. Now the objective of the actors turn towards destroying the house. Towards the ending you feel the movie is going too far and getting dumber by the minute.
Ofcourse there are parts in the movie which sends shivers down your spine. As I said the movie had brought mixed reactions some may find it very appealing nd scary but many may not.
If you are half convinced go for it only if it is running in a theatre with good A/c.So even if you find it dumb u can utillize the money for 2 hours chilling. And the biggest tragedy is that some parents bring their small innocent kids for whom u feel pity listening to thier horrifed whispers, occational squealing.
