The Hague is not only important for the local Dutch folks but also for people of all Nationalities. The Hague - also called the Political capital of The Netherlands. It is a Melting Pot of a lot of foriegners too. The Hague has the Working Force of The Netherlands. Embassies of all the countries are in here and one cannot escape to seeing all the embassies all in a row. Right from India to Singapore and a whole lot more.
The Hague has a lot of the Suriname Population. I remember reading somewhere....that when the Suriname Colony was assigned to live in The Netherlands, they were grouped together and The Hague was the place alloted to them for stay. Luckily - it was a good place, the third biggest cities in The Netherlands.
Compared to Amsterdam or any other active city - The Hague never sleeps. You would still find shops open until late evenings or even on a Sunday! FYI, of course these shops are run by Non-Dutch people. The Hague also has some of the tall buildings, after Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It is indeed nice to see some scrapers aiming for the sky in this Nether Land!
Bustling with a lot of markets - boasting of the largest Markets in Europe - The Haagse Market - is self sufficient. One can just buy anything in there for throw away prices - It is very user friendly and reachable.
The Hague also has the International Court of Justice that sure credits it with a lot of pomp and pride. The Queens working palace and Residence is yet another feather in the cap!
Of course, not to mention the citys Red Light District - yet another famous joint - in not for users, atleast for observers.
And Hey! Watch out for your wallets....you never know who will get you for what!
The Hague - Damn neat!
