Times Magnum Opus The Hero - Love story of a spy directed by Anil Sharma holds the viewers for three hours with some Never Before scenes in Indian Cinema.
The Cast
Sunny Deol - Excels in this author backed role of Inteligence officer from RAW. this time he dont look so old (Thanks to the excellent make-up)
Priety Zinta - Surprising she has something to do in the film & she had done it quite naturally
Priyanka Chopra - Gets scope to perform in a small role of a Doctor, She puts some artifical expressions to it. She could have done it even better.
Amrish Puri, Khalid Mohammed & Kabir Bedi excels as Bad Guys as usual.
Rajpal Yadav, Shabaaz Khan & other supporting cast also does justice to their roles
The Crew
Kabir Lal Has captured the breath taking shots of Kulu- manali, Switzerland & canada which is a visual treat for eyes.
Uttam singh comes out with two decent songs Dil mein and In mast nigahon mein stand out. The qawali song at darga is also good other songs are just average
The Action Scenes by Al Ameen are co-ordinated well
Dialouges are well penned by Shaktimaan targetting the masses who was also written the script.
The production values are very high with appealing technical & Gadget usage throughout the movie
The Story-Screenplay Dept had failed in establishing Love angle to the story also failed in executing emotional sequences.
The Climax of the film is well shot but lacks soul.
Editing is tight without giving the viewer any time to think except the appearance of some song sequence here and there.
The Director
The Directors talent is visible in each and every frame of the film. He had taken care every minute details to make the movie flawless.
The Reunion of Sunny & Preity in Canada.
First meeting of Sunny & Amrish Puri in US
Song Sequence In mast Nigahon Mein.
are some scenes worth mentioning.
AnilSharma had become one of the hottest director in Hindi cinema in recent years mainly due to success of his earlier film Gadar, He has directed well but the Screenplay leaves little scope for him to perform other than creating stunning Action Sequences.
The irrelevent appearance of some songs & the technical descripting of Nuclear bomb was not required.
Overall
The Gadar team is again back with The Hero This time the film lacks emotions that Gadar had. Gadar had a good blend of Action, Emotions and Drama, where as The Hero had only Action & Drama. When compared to Gadar The Hero is far behind the expectations. But When you see the film as a normal Sunny starer you get lots of surprises in the film Throughout.
The Hero is worth watchable due to technical aspects, but a comparison to Gadar may dissappoint you to certian extent.
Personally speaking I throughly enjoyed the movie with out getting bored.
