World of Facts

It was a breezy evening after a long boring day ruled by the Sun, which made me get out of my house. I was wondering where to go and I just started walking to an unknown destination. I surpassed few malls, food centres, theatres etc., but none of them attracted me. I was about to start my return journey back to my boring place and was thinking of sitting before the idiot box for the rest of the day. It was that time it striked my mind that, why shouldn’t I spend sometime in a book shop? Yeah! I found the destination for my journey. Then came the next thing in my mind. What kind of book should I buy? Should I go for a Sidney Sheldon (being my favourite writer) or Irving Wallace? Or should I go for Shakuntala Devi’s puzzles or brain teasers? I was very much confused which even made me think of getting back home soon and rest. Then passed the lightning called ’’THE HINDU SPEAKS ON SCIENTIFIC FACTS’’ through my eyes. It gave a long lasting impression in my mind. The moment I took that book in my hands and scrolled through first few pages, I thought I would soon become a above-normal person. By the way, are you above-normal? then answer this question...

WHAT MAKES THE MILK LEVEL RISE WHEN IT BOILS WHILE THE WATER DOESN’T? Iam sure the science students or the above-normal people (those who read this book earlier) can answer this question, but not the normal person. This is just an example, there are lots to come. We, the normal people do things mechanically, as and when required, but do not know how it works and what is behind them to work in such a way? ’’THE HINDU SPEAKS ON SCIENTIFIC FACTS’’ is the solution for these people, of course, Iam one of them.

There are many things which I didn’t know all these years. Excepting that few things are very much detailed scientifically, which a layman finds it difficult to understand, this is one of its kind. Oh, I can’t spend 100 bucks for this book, but I can spend it for a couple of drinks, I can spend it for an ice cream with my lover, I can spend it in thousand other ways, is what few people’s mindset tells us. Is it not worth spending 100 bucks for learning 100 new things? The next question that comes from the pessimistic mind is ’’What am I going to do by knowing these things?’’... If our ancestors had thought the same way, we would not be living in a developed nation like ours. Kudos to ’’THE HINDU’’ group.
