Yes the book is all this and more!!! classic sherlock holmes with all the factors contributing to make it a great book.
the elements of suspense and fear , specially the latter are very strong.it also has a tinge of horror unlike the other holmes books.this adds an extra colour to it and mmakes it somehow different and more interesting than some of the other holmes books.
read it specially on a rainy night and when u r alone , and u will understand what I mean!!!
