Its a fine hotel but can be better at the same price. toilet is somewhat stingy. Sorry to say that the Howrah Hotel disappointed us a bit. Before coming here, we checked their website: no mention of Room Tariff! When called, we were told to come to the hotel and then the tariff would be told.
It is an old structure. It will probably not withstand even below 5 Richter scale earthquake! Room looks not well-maintained. Toilet had stinking smell with some kind of stains! TV did not function.
The hotel is only 2 minutes walk from the Howrah station. That is the only good thing about the hotel. We stayed for 6 hours to catch our onward train to delhi. This is an age old property and certainly the most dirty hotel I ever stayed in.
