The Huntsman:Winter's War Should be Frozen in Time

Snow White and The Huntsman, the 2012 release which unexpectedly made$400 million, now has a predecessor The Huntsman: Winter’s War. This movie has its story revolving around the fact how huntsman came into existence. Well, just as we thought, the movie is as bad as it gets, but insanely fun.

The most astonishing fact about the movie is that, it was able to cast brilliant actors. Charlize Theron is back as archetypal wicked stepmother Queen Ravenna; Emily Hunt plays Queen Ravenna’s sister, evil snow Queen Freya, Chris Hemsworth is back as axe-wielding huntsman, Nick Frost as dwarf whereas Jessica Chastain plays the role of huntsman’s long lost wife.

I feel that there was no need to go back in history of Snow White who triumphs her mirror-obsessed stepmother. We have been living with better stories in our heads and this movie just ruins the string to a great deal. This storyline hardly follows Snow White and The Huntsman with Kristen Stewart missing in the whole action. Without her, the story seems kind of lost and doesn’t feel like this flick can stick to its expectation.

The movie(God knows why) is made out of contractual obligation or it just shows Hollywood’s current obsession. The movie’s story is something that was tailor-made for a direct DVD-spinoff. The fact that we get to see this pointless and silly movie filled with A-list actors, is the biggest marvel of our age.

Enjoy this movie with a big slurpee and some cookies – whatever floats your boat. The point being that, there are few movies that come on-screen which are joyfully nonsensical. I could not see the whole idea behind filming this movie other than they had lots of funds available. Played with CGI-laden military before as well, this movie has no great changes to see. Tis a silly place. Not much of a brainer. Dare to watch at your own risk.
