The Illusionist is by far one of the best movies that I have watched till date. Eisenheim, the lead role/protagonist in the movie is a magician of sorts. He is a master of his craft and is a professional in creating illusion. Eisenheim also known as the illusionist puts up regular shows for the public but at some point in the movie a royal member catches glimpse of his art and asks him to perform at the mansion. The romance builds at this point because the illusionist has fallen for a women that is way beyond is reach so much that she is actually promised to a crown prince. But he knows that his love is true and in order to achieve it, he must create the biggest illusion of all, the grandest performance of his till date where he brings the love of his life back to life who had died because of an altercation. Anything I say beyond this will only spoil the suspense so you better watch to know more.
The performance is great by the way with the lead role being played by Edward Nortan and we all know that his acting skills are extemporary beyond doubt to say the least. The actress is played by Jessica Biel and she too is a sweetheart in the movie. The movie’s performance is better than any other you may have seen.
The only place that the movie succumbs to the prowess of the critics is its music. Although it is not as bad as you’re probably imagining it to be but all I really have to say is that they could have done better. The theme music is great by the way. Add to that the excellent cinematography portrayed. The movie is a must watch and I would highly recommend that you watch it as I am sure that you’ll enjoy it.
