The immortals of Meluha is a very interesting novel based on the fictional life story of Lord Shiva. The novel is written Keeping in mind the atmosphere of ancient India. A lot of information is taken from the Vedas and other sacred texts of Hindu mythology. The story revolves around the Somras also known as the drink of Gods. Consuming Somras helps in the extension of lifespan. There is a lot explained about somras in Rig Veda. Shiva in this novel is tribesmen who is invited in Meluha for living. There tribes name is Guna which resides in the mountains of Tibet near mansarovar lake. The novel is a great adventure and it develops a great interest and curiousity to read further. The other elements of the story are the Nagas. They are shown to be very powerful people and are always disguised. Moreover the romance between Shiva and Sati is also a great enjoyment in the novel. Amish Tripathi is truly a genius. The other two parts of this novel are the secret of Nagas and the oath of Vayuputras.
