Fabincredible (Fabulous + Incredible)

Incredible!!! I know I know, cliché and all that, but that?s exactly what this movie is. Pixar has always given us more than our money?s worth and I know that even with or without Disney backing them, they will be coming up with more brilliant work in the years ahead.

Back to the movie. Pixar outdoes itself in plot and characterization. The animation almost takes a background in this flick, but it too is, as always, awe inspiring. The movie takes you by hand in the first frame and doesn?t let go while it takes you on a great ride. For all those who think, animation is just for kids, this movie totally proves you wrong.

The movie has underlying themes that appeal to adult as well as child senses. For the action loving children and, lets face it, most men who behave like nine year old boys, there is loads of action, which is breath taking. Superhero powers, giant metal robots, high speed chases, fire rescues, amazing gadgets and just simple brawny fist action abounds and will delight these kids.

For the adults, there are mature themes of relationships, marriage, having children and dealing with their problems, dealing with forgotten dreams and almost dealing with the loss of loved ones. All this is packed so seamlessly into the story line that it forms a perfectly balanced movie.

The movie starts by introducing us to a day in the life of Mr. Incredible, who is a super hero and a much loved citizen of Metroville (notice the tribute to Superman, lots of tributes to other superheroes, esp. Spider-man, to be found in the movie), he is considered one of the mightiest and is happily married to Elastigirl and leads a content super hero life.

All this changes when suddenly the world turns against superheroes, claiming that they do not wish to be saved, and suddenly Mr. Incredible finds himself, hiding from the world in the Superhero Relocation Program, and hating his normal life. His world is rocked once again when he is called in by a mysterious person to resume his super hero duties on the sly. This immerses him into a great adventure, which also embroils his wife and his two super hero children. What follows is a rollicking ride!

The animation in the movie is top notch, some of the best I?ve seen. The plot is engrossing and not as predictable as you might think. The characters are brilliant, they are the reason this movie is above the others in this genre. The humor is subtle but hilarious, see if you can spot a particularly hilarious ?monologue? joke.

There are some hilarious sequences, like the one about the disaster of superheroes in capes and the baby suit that their superhero suit designer comes up with. No real jabs are taken at any superheroes, and though it serves as a comment on our behavior towards exceptionally gifted or unusual people, it is for the most part a harmless movie with no great undercurrent of satire.

The family is realistically portrayed and I was totally touched by the husband ?wife relation, it was great. The gadgets and the scenery make it a completely ?cool? movie.

If you have kids, definitely take them, if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, do take them, if you have friends, do take them, if you have parents, , do take them, if you?re all alone, just go! I recommend it without reservations, go have a great time!
