Another superb movie by Pixar. I wouldnt say its the best, but its entertaining. The animation is nothing new of what Shrek 2 had to offer, but its definitely awesome.(Its like getting used to great stuff....you see so much of it that you dont think its special anymore) I cant pin point on what it is, but theres something in the movie that makes it less special among its kind. Maybe its just the fact that there are more of its kind every year now. And also I think the publicity of the movie took away a lot of the viewing pleasure. The best jokes were already in the trailer...there was nothing more to look forward to. However I insist that its definitely worth watching.
The story :
The movie is about super-heroes and their normal lives or their want for bigger-than-life normal lives. It starts about Bobb Parr, who is Mr. Incredible - a superhero who has saved the world from several evils. Helen (Elastigirl) is his fiance and Frozone is his best pal. During one of his rescue attempts, Mr. Incredible is bugged by a stalking fan- Buddy and his attempt is followed by a nasty lawsuit by several citizens. This forces the govt to abandon support to all superheroes and let them just disappear into the common crowd as one of them. However, Bob isnt able to adjust to his normal life.....despite being well settled with his wife Helen and 3 children. His penchant to do incredible things gets him in a soup and his family and Frozone come to his rescue once again proving superheroes are larger-than life who protect the world.
The Review:
Voices of all the lead characters is convincing and suits the characters very well. The funny sequences are few but laugh-worthy. However, it does get a little slow in between, before the pace picks up again. The movie has a very American feel to it, unlike Finding Nemo which was just all about the characters and the ocean. A lot of things in the movie are hurried up to a finish. The visuals are superb....especially Syndromes hide-out is just too good. The animation is getting closer to reality than it ever was. The look and feel of things and sequences are more real. Watch it....its any day better than the load of mush on TV.
