A Great Movie

Based on the best selling novel of Khaled Hosseini, Kite Runner, the movie is not for everyone; but for those who enjoy serious cinema and storyline. The movie takes you through history of Afghanistan, narrated by various characters,  but mainly follows the life of Amir and his dad, refugees of Afganisthan settled in USA.

The plot, as taken from the book is refreshing and well adapted in the movie. The cast performance is excellent . The portrait of Afghanistan( although this movie is shot in China) is great. Marc Foster(Director) has done an outstanding job of showing the changing times of Afghanistan without losing the grip of his characters. The soundtrack is exceptional and  provides a time journey experience of the movie. The last song by Sami Yusuf  is magical and drives various emotions amongst viewers.

At last the movie is about two friends Amir and Hassan and thier journey into adulthood. The story is about loyalty, betrayal and final repentance in the backdrop of changing times in Afghanistan as a free country, Soviet invasion and finaly the Taliban takeover. The movie also tries to capture the changing times of modren muslims. The dialogue between Amir and his to be wife, was an attempt by the director to showcase that the new generation does not adhere toTaliban policies, but wants to lead life like any other normal American or European.

All in All, a great adaptation of a great book!
