About the restaurant-
Zen has apparently consummated the craft of serving Skillet Asian nourishment that is luckily not a hodgepodge and overwhelming splashing of sauces and seasonings. Regardless of whether it is Japanese, Thai or Korean, the unobtrusive seasonings, the hypnotizing smells and the bunch surfaces are the claim to fame of the sustenance at the eatery. Furthermore, this was a typical strain through all the sustenance that we ate. What's more, what better approach to experience tastes and surfaces than through a plate of mixed greens? So we began our feast with the Firm Onion Serving of mixed greens. Crunchy lettuce and white onion tempura are spiced with a tart, sweet and salty su miso dressing. Each nibble detonates with flavors simply like the Oriental Plate of mixed greens, with the sharp taste of daikon ( Asian white radish) and the somewhat sweet carrots. The tastes are superbly united with a hot pirikara dressing, that is very like a piri-piri sauce - red, zesty and flavourful.
My eating sidekick attempted one more serving of mixed greens to finish our plate of mixed greens round-up - we had the customary Thai most loved of Som Tum - crude papaya, joined with shelled nut, tomato and new lime - again a burst of surfaces and flavors. For our tidbits we examined the Shira Ae, a blend of tofu and spinach presented with a shire goma sauce; the white sesame sauce giving an awesome nutty flavor to the dish. We additionally attempted the Steamed Pumpkin and Pine Nut Dumpling, the crunchy pine nuts supplementing the sweet taste of the delicate pumpkin. Another starter that was generally welcomed was the Szechwan Vegetables with Peppercorn, Lamp Chillies and Spring Onion. The sauté ed vegetables had a decent smash to them and the peppercorns, chillies and spring onions joined to give a sharp, punch to the taste buds. We additionally had the Poh Pia Tod - a Thai Vegetable spring roll, a mix of vegetables that are rolled together with a delicate, light wrapper. This dish is presented with a sweet stew sauce which gives it the truly necessary burst of flavor. The entire dish was tasty to the point that we requested a second round! About full with the canapé s, we played safe with the fundamental course, selecting a Vegetable Panang - a mellow red curry of vegetables with peanuts and coconut milk with jasmine rice. This is a perfect curry to arrange if the hotness of a conventional red or green curry overpowers you. Full to the overflow we chose to skirt the treats on offer.
