If there ever was a movie you need to watch it’s this one. The movie really stands alongside any contemporary cult movie created. So why haven’t we heard much about it? Well the basic reason tendered by a good number of people across the US is related to the political forces in the US. I don’t know what to believe really but I have to say that this movie deserved a lot more accolades then it actually got.
So who is David Gale? A professor and man who fought against the death penalty. Where is he when the movie begins?- On death row and is close to be executed by the dreaded injection in three days time. What brought him here is a murder and rape conviction. He is apparently being sentenced to death for murdering and raping his colleague and fellow activist Constanice. Till this point he has never given even one interview and now he chooses this particular reporter three days before he dies.
While Bitsy, the reporter, does not believe his claim to being innocent at first, the more she listens to the story the more she begins to question his true guilt. Did he actually do it? She suddenly realises she has before her an innocent man about to be executed. She, along with her side kick, then try to unravel the story before the guys time runs out....
