Lost in the matrix

Well this is a movie which was a big hit and i’m well aware about the consequences of writing anything negative about it. probably most of you will disagree and brick bats will follow. but just now I saw another review on this movie named ’zabardast philim’ and could not resisit to put down my thoughts on this.

since everyone around me had seen the movie and given rave reviews I went to see it with some what high expectations about it . and what did I see - a zabardast philim. but that’s all. it was a philim and not a movie, not a cinema.

why do I say so? because even the most powerful microsocope on earth will fail to find any substance in it. like many of the hollywood science fiction it has tried to imagine the dangerous future when all poerful machines will have a life of their own and pose a challange to human beings. like most of thoe films, it has tried to give some explanations which is pseudo-science at best and it has tried to top it all with mind blowing special effects. what most people liked about the philim is these special effects. I say, yes they are mind blowing but for those people with holes in their minds so that wind can blow thru’ them.

many people who liked the special effects were of the opinion that those effects makes it ’paisa vasool’. that may be so but even then it does not end up being a film. special effect or not, a film (or for that matter anything remotely crative) should touch some cord in human mind - must contain something humane about it (for example think about et - just to give a contrast)which this philim is totally devoid of.
