Agents must die, Neo!

This would be my worst nightmare if I found out we were living in a world of make beleive.

A world where our dreams are our reality and our reality does not bare even thinking about.

That is the world of the matrix.

Now, I was a sceptic about this film on its release.

Another Keanu Reeves ego trip. Or so I thought.

I did not go to the cinema to see it. Purely because of all the hype it recieved during its launch.

I felt I would be dissapointed with the film after hearing and seeing all of the publicity it was getting.

I did not even hire it from the shop for the same reason.

I did however sit down a few months ago while it was being screned on Sky.

I figured, I might as well watch it.

20 mins into the film and I felt I was right about my initial judgement. Overhyped rubbish.

I turned off the TV and went to bed.

I explained to a work colleague that I had got bored with it as the plot was confusing and it was not my ’’cup of tea’’

He said I was mad and to persevere with it next time it was on Sky as the point I had turned off from was an important one. One that would make everything clear.

A week or so later, I did this.

Am I glad I did?

I certainly am! Its one of the best films of its genre around!

Ive watched it a feww times now and it gets more understandable and easier to watch everytime.

I can see how people get obsessed with it.

The Plot

--------

The story revolves around our main Character, Neo (Keanu Reevs) who is a computer hacker in his world. The mundane life is brought to an abrupt end by Morphius, who awakens him from his false dream world and shows him for what it really is. A lie.

In reality, humans have been taken over by computers. In the future computers become so powerful, they take their own energy from the sun. To stop it, humans nuke the sky to stop its solar activity. Now it turns to a new energy...humans. It grows them in farms!

Neo wakes up and helps a band of rebels to defeat the computer with computer generated skills.

Out to stop them is the computers own ’’virus killer’’ known as the Agents. Posing as Humans and indestructable, these mad people are sent to track the rebels down.

Wh owill win?

The Characters

--------------

Reeves and his co stars make a truly excellent cast.

Keanu makes a change from his normal gung ho hero type to a nerdy computer geek. He still turns on the hard man bit in the end.

The young lady in the film, Trinity, is played by Carrie Ann Moss. I have not seen her in many other things but she does look good in her outfits! Sherrrrwing!

Morpheus, played by Laurence Fishburne, is truly a great actor of his time. His calming powerful leader role is performed to a tee. A father figure to the rebels.

Special Effects

---------------

Im sure this film invented the term! They are out of this world. They rival Terminator 2 with its liquid metal man for quality.

The way the agents absorb and avoid the bullets is incredible.

Overall

-------

Watch this film. Stick with it. Persevere. You may need to but its worth it!
