Mobile Store : Extended Warranty on Smart Phones

Hi,


Mobile Store’s extended warranty is totally bulls. You are just making fool of the customers in the name of an extended warranty.


I am the person who suffered from your extended warranty service. I am Kishore Barik from Kolkata.


I bought a Nokia N8-00 from Mobile Store, City Center 1, Salt Lake City, Kolkata, on 3rd-Apr-2012, with extended warranty of Rs. 19171. Invoice No. 30927/5874397.


Within a year of purchasing, I faced problem of No Network Coverage on mobile inside any house, where other phones are showing full tower, as it was in warranty. I serviced by Nokia Authorized Service Center, Salt Lake, Kolkata. After 3-4 month, again I faced same problem and today I went to same Mobile Store where it’s purchased, City Centre Salt Lake, Kolkata to repair the phone as it is within extended warranty.


Mobile store guys first told me that it will take minimum three weeks to repair as they have to send the phone somewhere, from there it will come. What!!!!????? :(


I was totally surprised as I will not get the phone for three weeks. I mean, what will I do for these three weeks ?


Ok, later I agreed to submit the phone for a repair. Then they gave me four forms to be filled up (this is basically Insurance Claim not any extended warranty.)


You should change the term extended warranty to the general insurance of Mobile at the time of purchasing.


Ok, I filled up those forms. While submitting the forms, a guy told me that you cannot write about problem faced in first year and that it was repaired by Nokia Authorized Service Center. He said if I write about that, the Insurance Company will reject the claim.


Now my question, what is this extended warranty? I will have to submit the form for Claim Settlement.


Does United India Insurance Company Ltd. don’t know that during the 1st year, every manufacturer provides free service? Then, why shall they reject the claim, (which is claimed by Mobile Store people)?


And three weeks, is it justified to surrender our phone for three weeks to repair? In today’s world.


If this is extended warranty, then it’s completely bulls.


I will never recommend an extended warranty for a phone or at least from Mobile Store.


I don’t know the extended warranty services of other sellers for other products.
