The name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss is the first book in the kingkiller chronicle series.
Our protagonist is Kvothe and he is telling his story to a man named The Chronicler, a very fitting name to his personality because he Chronicle down adventures and truth. Kvothe is a kind of legend in this world, he has done some seriously amazing things, experienced many adventures. So there are so many different accounts on who Kvothe is and what he has done and The Chronicler is just trying to find out the truth and he manages to track down Kvothe and get the exclusive on what really happened.
Kvothe as a protagonist is fantastic, he is a very likeable character, we learn all about the Kvothe childhood, what has happened to him in the past, and he does have a very tragic past. We also find out that Kvothe is very smart, witty and talented and he is a performer. And as the story forward, we learn that he gets into the university that teaches witchcraft and magic, and his adventures as a student.
Patrick Rothfuss has spent 14 years to write this trilogy and it shows, the characters the world is so beautifully developed and the difference between the young and the matured, present time Kvothe, leave me wanting to know more about him, and I am sure next novel in this series will answer to some of my questions. It is a decent read, and for sure I will read the second book in this series.
