They say you never forget your first love-that’s deffinatley the case in The Notebook, adapted from the best seller novel by Nicholas Sparks. The Notebook is a heart wrenching, humorous, depressing, romantic story of a love story.
The movie starts off with an old man who is living in a nursing home, reading a story in a faded notebook to a woman. The story the old man is reading to the the old women is about two Carolina teenagers, both with different opinions, different friends and backgrounds. She grew up surrounded by wealthy people, maids and cheffeurs, and grew up in mansions and had her whole future laid out for her. When he grew up in a little country house, with his father and working with his best friend Fin at the lumber yard. Thogh she had the world at her feet and he didn’t have two ’dimes’ to rub together that didn’t stop Noah and Allie from spending a romantic and magical summer together before they were both seperated when Aliie had to move to New York with her parents just before the IIWorld War took place.
When the IIWorld War was over, and all the soldiers who survived went back home, Allie was engaged to a successfull, wealthy buisnessmen and spent most of time preparing for the wedding, whilst Noah was back home from the war, restoring a house which he one day swore that he would buy and do up the house after Noah and Alliw spent an unforgettable night there, and lost in the memory of the amazing summer Allie and him had spent together and thought, that if he restored the house, she would find her way back to him.
Weeks before her wedding, Allie sees Noah and his house in the paper and decides to say goodbye properly before getting married. But things didn’t go to plan when she remembers how much she loved him, and has to choose the path her parents would approve of and marrying her fiancee, or to choose the path to Noah and the life she deep down wants. And make the decision which will change her life forever.
The Notebook is definatley one of my favourite movies. It is such a beautiful story. You immediatley fall in love with the characters.This is a movie everyone should watch. But if you hate romantic movies I do advise that you shouldn’t watch it because you probably wouldn’t enjoy it very much. Nevertheless, it isn’t all lovey dovey! It’s quircky to. It’s just undiscribable. It takes your breathe away and you’ll want to wartch it again. But I must warn you, if you decide to watch this movie (which I advise you do!) make sure to bring tissues with you! Because without fail, each time I have watched this movie, I have bawled my eyes out! This is definatley a girl movie and I am positive that boys will think it’s boring or stupid.
I really hope that you decide to watch it because it’s movie everyone should get to watch, just to experiance all these different emotions when you watch it.
