Since there has been lot of views on Bollywood BHOOT, we are getting mixed responses, so I just thought to peep in and say Hey you all, if you are looking for some kinda horror (the best narration, powerful script, something different than main stream, the best graphically edited cinematography, chilling musical score and terrific acting from all the crew)...then here is the movie I wud like to suggest for all of you. THE OTHERS. I have seen many of us have said same thing that I put into bracket about BHOOT. Its all wrong. The only best thing about BHOOT is Urmila, otherwise it is just an experimental movie. Edison experimented 1000 times to glow one bulb. We only care for that last say 1001th successful experiment. I would say that BHOOT belongs one among the 1000 and THE OTHERS is 1001th experiment. I do have praise for Ramuji for presenting something different, he succeeded in it but the results came no near to any good film. I heard its pulling crowd into India. Everyone of us knows what’s the taste of masses. This review is only for those who see the film not only for entertainment but film as an art. Watching from directors mind, cinematographer’s lenses, actors expressions etc....The film that takes care of multiple issues, makes the intricate illusions into viewers mind and then solve them in the end. What Ramu did is to just scare the people and forgot that he was doing a film. Wasted all footage (Thanks God its 2 hr)..Hussshhhh, This time I came out of theatre with just a flat face. KOUN had made me shocked in the end..but not BHOOT. In fact I was laughing for last 10-15 minutes of movie. Okie...I have explained you what made me to write the review of a film that was released 2 yrs back. But that will surely give you an idea what the real scaring material is. I never said that Ramu made another Ramse comedy horror series, but he cannot misguide Indian viewers ( I have already said my defination of viewer).... THE OTHERS:---------- Grace (Nicole Kidman, my fav actress) and her two kids (Showing kids horrified gives the main punch..Ramu missed that.. His movie kid was just coming with a flat face)..lives in a remote island and big mansion. .and she waits for her husband to come back from the war..Her 2 kids have some unusual disease (precisely- Xeroderma Pigmentosum) that makes them unable to withstand any bright light. So the mansions never had door or windows opened.. always with curtains down. Thus the family dwells in their rambling old mansion on the mist drenched Isle of Jersey with the curtains drawn and the children always behind a locked door for fear light may inadvertently enter the room. Soon 3 servants came in to attend their house and the life changes for all of them. It becomes clear that there are OTHERS inside the house too. It has no irritating music like door bells or thorn prone frames. All it has lovely photography and chilling musical score. It keeps your heart pumping the blood..till the end..and when you are taken to the climax, you feel like your body busted with high pressure, all blood spitting outside. Such is the last climax. Such is the terrific script written and directed by a very young Spanish director Alejandro Amenabar (its just his 3rd film). All I do also care is making of cinema. Because I think and act like an artist. Every single character has a bright presence and remarkable role. There are hardly 6-7 characters and whole movie takes place inside of that mansion. You will go chilly cold by watching the performance of those two kids. Graces daughter reveals she has been seeing and talking with unexplained apparitions that come and go in every room of the house. At first, Grace refuses to believe in her childrens scary sightings, but soon, she too begins to sense an intruder is at large. Watch the performance by her daughter. in one scene you will go wild when you see her with old lady;s eyes..Let me not reveal it what the story is about. You better go and watch it out. Because all I want to prove and give you all what you are looking for. The real scare and not like some half baked cookie on the name of any brand. If you are looking for a scary brand this is what director Alejandro gave it to you. You may also ask Ramu ji to join us. The direction in THE OTHERS is extraordinarily good, Kidmans uptight performance is electrifying. All the casts are perfect in their acting, not least the kids. The kids came over as genuine. The Others has visuals effects that are splendidly atmospheric and claustrophobic. Just to make the atmosphere foggy look, they did manipulate the frames. Its interesting to see its making. The musical score is just wonderful and during dialogue free scenes the absence of music was as important as the presence of it. I strongly appeal to all Indian to improve their taste. Whether its taste for humanity, patriotism or movies. We need to pace up with the time. Take the instincts and not the scripts from the Hollywood. I know Ramuji does not belong to the junky filmakers. But then how many of us know that Australian director Peter Jackson made the plantation a year before shooting the picture just to get perfect view of the village shown in LOTR. Mel Gibson in his dual role (director and actor) in Braveheart use to get up at 3AM just to memorize his role, because in front of other actors he have no chance to see himself as an actor. There are long hard stories...Because West considers cinema as an ART. I do not wish to defame guys doing good in Bollywood. But we as viewers should change our perception than the directors and producers will be forced to deliver that we look for. Otherwise after BHOOT success, coming next months there will 10s of movies screened into the theatres, all aligned with their respective comedy BHOOTs.
