I have been waiting for some books from Flipkart to be delivered to Calicut/ Kozhikode and while the rest of my order has come, the two consignments sent via Professional still haven’t arrived. The tracking IDs show they arrived in Kozhikode on Dec 14 and Dec 17 and let alone deliver, they haven’t even called to inform me if there’s some problem. Bluedart has delivered two packets without any fuss in the meantime.
I finally found numbers for some branch who kept forwarding me to other branches till I got the correct one at the fourth try. I gave the woman there my cell number (telling her add a 0 as it is not a local number) so she could look for the IDs and call me, which she never did. Finally I called back and she said, Oh yes they are here and you’ll get them today. She gave me no reason why they were delayed, and when I lost my temper she finally said your number is not working so we couldn’t call you.
That’s the lamest excuse ever! One, if they would bother to come and deliver, why would they need to call? One person is always at home. Two, what kind of idiots have they employed who don’t bother to add a code and redial if they can’t get through an unfamiliar number? Three, how come Bluedart had no problem delivering the stuff or calling when needed?
Because TPC are unprofessional and too lazy to fulfill their door to door commitments. They have earlier asked us to come and collect important documents from their office or worse, from a shop near the house! They even left some critical bank papers at the shop once and called LATER to say you can collect it from there.
Moreover, they are rude, and they sound like they are doing you a favour, not their job. If I spoke the way to a customer the way the woman at the other end did to me before she rudely hung up, I would lose my job. She deserves to lose her job, so do all the other jokers at Professional Couriers, Kozhikode.
Update, 22-12-2010: Still waiting for the courier or for a call. I wrote to their HO in Mumbai, who replied cc’ing their Calicut office to look into this. I myself wrote to the Calicut office today. No response.
Compare this with the excellent customer care from Flipkart, who have diligently replied to all my mails and kept in touch about the delivery status.
