Never say die

This is a film almost all students must see.It inspires hopes and it also shows  the realty of life in a developed country and the so called super power. The film is  about 30 year old person’s  terrible struggle to persue his dream of becoming a stock broker and in succeeding it.

The film is very inspiring because it is very realistic. The situation one faces in this film, perticularly finance problems, marital problems and career problems can happen to anyone. There is nothing surrealistic about the film and this made the movie much more interesting.

The film shows the poverrty in US without hypocracy. The unemployment and the downtrodded people’s suffering in US in shown naked without inhibitions. It is not one of those american psycho films with a plot showing insecurity feelings of Americans and their psycho somatic disorders

or terrible perversions of immorality.

The hero’s wife ditches him for a boyfriend who would open a restaurant in Newyork (according to her ) , right

in the middle of our Hero’s career problems. This problem is coupled with his intention to keep his son with him (american word for single father).  So he has to take of his 6 year old son and find a remunerative employment for himself.

But he , instead pursues a dream of becoming a stock broker.

In US the stock broker (member of the stock exchange) is somewhat different from Indian scenario.

There in US as also in Japan , very large mutimillion dollar companies , some times public limted companies own many memberships of the stock exchange and in turn it employes the stock brokers who would bring in the business, and take a commission as well as very well paid salaries.

It is not easy to become a stock broker either in India or there in US  or for that matter anywhere else.

In pursuit of happiness he (the hero of the film) does not settle for a simple job somewhere and save his marriage or would avoid grave dangeres to himself and his son. He pursues his dream inspite of heavy odds against him.

At one stage he had no option except to sell his blood and collect a few dollar notes for food to his little son and to himself. The poor in USA  standing in queues just to get night shelter , for a sleep and his attendance to a church ( like many other helpless guys) was only because he would get a morsel of food if he stays on until all the singing is over in the church.

In anycase , you would learn many lessons from this film. You would know that your dream come true sooner or later , provided you diligently work for them.

You will learn that after all , in this cruel world , all are not bad people. There are many who would lend a helping hand without they being even aware of it !!. It is your kindness, enthusiasm that counts , a very special ingredient for success. There can be many odds and still you can succeed.

There can be much work and still you can find time to play with your son only so  that the boy would not slip in to depression without his mother.

That it is dangerous to hold opinion on the basis of colour , creed or religion. if you entertain such ideas like fanaticism or serious prejudice against people on the basis of racial or religion etc.,

you are bound to lose.  You are bound to have serious limitations and you are bound to get what you hate.  Remember " jaisa bhavana vaisa hoga anubhav".

"The pursuit of happiness" is an inspirational film to the core which can be seen with your family.

It does not contain the usual hollywood kiss and lick . And your won’t hear the word f  very often.

The poverty in US (other side of american story ? is it not ?)  may surprise you.
