An intriguing ** Richard Gere ** crime thriller

My God....no reviews yet on this movie? Red Corner is one of the most intense & good crime dramas I have seen. The action is less but the suspense and emotions more than compensate for it. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves suspense drama and is not in it just for the action.

Richard Gere and the very pretty Ling Bai are cool, especially the later who emotes with utter conviction. There is lot of Buddhist-like philosophy that reflects in the dialogues. Is it got to do with Richard Gere being a public ambassador for Buddhism? Anyway, some of the dialogues are touching and influential.

My only disappointment is the visuals which is just average. It seems like the cinematography was given the least priority here. With more effort on the visuals, the movie could have been a popular international hit.

Also, there are some nude scenes. So family viewers, beware! A 1997 released thriller that deserves top marks. Watch it....
