The king of scorpions!

REMEMBER ’THE MUMMY’?

I watched this movie hearing about the Rock as well as the Sorpion King who was the ultimate evil character in Mummy Returns. But here he is a good one. I liked this movie which made me keep a CD as well as a DVD at home.

It didn’t cost much as I expected it to. Don’t consider this movie as a sequel to the Mummy series when you hear about the Scorpion king or you will be confused as I were when I first saw this one. The king has a new beginning in this movie. He got nothing to do with the mummies or any horrifying creatures. He is just a man on a mission. You can’t expect him to be a scorpion, can you?

Even I didn’t find it a great one, but it was better than average especially because of the presence of the Rock alias Dwayne Johnson in it to make this one rocking.....elctrifying all the way through the movie as the viewers get some thing they deserve for the money they give.....

WHATS THIS ALL ABOUT?

There is an evil warlord Memnon (Steven Brand) who is having conquest and terrorizing the people. He is advised by a sorceress Cassandra (Kelly Hu) who tells him the future. Matheyus (Dwayne ’’The Rock’’ Johnson), a highly skilled mercenary is summoned to find and kill Cassandra and thus weaken the warlord.

He belongs to a tribe called the Arkadians. But he is captured and sentenced to death. But he escapes from there and takes Cassandra as a captive as he wants to end Memnon once and forever with her help. There is a rebel leader Balthazar (Michael Clarke Duncan) who wants to kill Cassandra, but he finally, joins with Matheyus after he loses to him in a one-on-one fight.

At the same time, Cassandra falls in love with Matheyus - hero has to fall in love with heroine, nothing new with that. Now we got a love story to take care of too. Were will all this end? Will they be able to beat on of the most powerful warlords in the history of Egypt? What role will the sorceress have to play in extra to revealing? Watch the movie for answers.....

MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED

The Rock is called the most electrifying man in the history of sports entertainment all around the globe. Of course, he was entertaining in the movie. He got better muscles than the Bollywood heroes like Salman Khan and Hritik Roshan and he got looks and class of an expert in acting and not that of a rookie - may be due to the fact that he does lots of acting in WWE.

Our Rocky seems to have undergone some huge transformation coming into this movie as he suits the mercenary quite well. His dialogues are even more solid than what he delivers in WWE and in interviews - tats what I call ’’rock solid’’. After seeing the movie, you can’t stop yourself from saying two phrases - ’’Can you smell what the rock is cooking’’ as well as ’’Finally, the rock has come back to Hollywood’’.

Also, there is Kelly Hu, in her first heroine role in the movie. She comes with some exposing (It comes near 100%, seems to be in 90% revealings) along with some acting. Well, she did give what was expected from her. She does suit the role of the sorceress, especially in that dress.

She looks beautiful, but sometimes I think that she took the wrong pills that day. Anyways, she excells in some parts. I don’t find anything special in the villain. He could have been a better villain. This is not how villains are supposed to be. He also got a really bad hair cut.

FINALLY.....THE ROCK HAS COME BACK

The movie does deliver what was expected from it, but not even an inch more than that. It will not disappoint for sure as long as some action movie lovers and the fans of ’’the people’s champion’’ is considered. The Rock has come back to Hollywood, but the WWE fans will miss him. His other movies ’’Walking tall’’ and ’’Welcome to the Jungle’’ didn’t impress me which makes this one much better.

The movie leads us to ancient times as instead of car chases, this one have camel chases - thats good, not even horse chases. I have heard about a game of the same name being released, but got no more information about it. I would really love to have a game of this one. Egypt seems to be a good place to make movies, isn’t it? especially with some mummies and pyramids.....

NOTE:- Some people call this as Mummy 3, but some others call Van Helsing as Mummy 3. Which one is the real one? It seems to me that both are not. I think that the real sequel is still to follow as we can’t see any relation to the story of the first two mummies in these two. The only thing Mummy and this one has in common is the Scorpion King as well as the former WWE champion ’’The Rock’’.
