Secret to your Desires

If I asked you about your strongest desire, would you tell me? If there is one thing you could have if you truly wanted it, would you really ask for it?

Would you believe if I told you that all that stands between you and the thing you desire is you? Would you be willing to let go of limitations and realize your true potential? Sounds like a bunch on mumbo jumbo doesn’t it? Sounds like someone is pulling a con job on you! But the truth cannot be further away. Well me start by introducing the book to you.

Name: The Secret

Author: Rhonda Bryne

Category: Self Help(maybe?)

*The book starts of with the author describing her lowest point in life, broke, almost loosing her house and young kids to feed, she accidentally stumbles upon the secret. The same secret that she came to realize, was known to many of the greatest people we have come to know Plato, Shakespeare, Newton, Beethoven, Lincoln Einstein etc etc. Yeah we admire them, but it is almost irrelevant to us, except for the curiosity about what they knew that made them so great, and this is where The Secret comes in. Let me start of explaining what really got me interested in it.

There is a line in the book, ‘As every sound that we emit has a frequency so does every thought that we emit’. This one caught my attention and I went and researched it, and turns out that it is true. So therefore every thought that we have, then must emit a frequency into the universe(or to god or any higher power…whoever we believe in).

A negative thought has one frequency and a positive has one. The book points out, that if we ever think about the times we were not feeling our best, like the time we were thinking of a mistake we have done in the recent past, suddenly all the mistakes that we have done start to come back to us. It is like a train on negative thoughts, one by one they come and make us feel even worse, and the worse we feel, the worse it gets. It takes considerable effort from our side to shrug away those thoughts and lift our self up.

This is where The Secret comes in. It states that there is a Law of Attraction that is constantly at work. You think negative things, and the Law of Attraction will give you more negative things to think about. On the other had, you emit happy thoughts and the Law of Attraction will give you more reasons to be happy about. For example, according to the book, if you are grateful for something in your life, then the Law of Attraction will give you more reasons to be grateful.

So basically what you think is what you get. The more negativity in your life, there will exists more reasons to be negative, therefore the more positive you are about life, the more positive things will you attract ‘Smile and the world smiles with you’

There are three major steps to the Law of Attraction according to the book.

Step 1: **Ask

Step 2: **Believe

Step 3: **Receive

Step 1** involves asking for what you truly want, like maybe a loving relationship. Be very clear in your mind what you want for, the book tells you not to dwell on the negative, like, ‘I don’t want a rude person’ rather think about the positive ‘I want a polite person’ The positives matter, take out all the negativity and focus on the positive side

Step 2**: Is to believe. When you order something online, you believe that you are going to get it. There is no doubt in your mind that you will receive what you have asked for. You don’t go out and order another backup do you? So if you were to put that amount on belief in an online site, why would you hesitate to not believe in your own potential and of the power of the Universe? So believe that you will get what you have asked for and be happy now, just like you would be when you get it

Step 3**: The last step is to receive. When we believe strongly in something, it does manifest. So when you put your faith in your wish, it will come to you just as you desired.

The book talks about feelings as the indicator to our thoughts, we cannot be thinking negative thoughts and feel happy, just like we cannot be thinking positive thoughts and feel sad. So to really know the kind of thoughts that you are emitting, just take a moment and think about how you are feeling? Are you happy? I hope you are!

The book also talks about love being the most strongest of the positive feelings, when you feel love for someone / thing, you are in the process of emitting the strongest frequency, and the Law of Attraction then compels the universe to give you more reasons to love. Simple!

The book is broken down in a number of sections. Including

The Secret to Money

The Secret to Relationships

The Secret to Health

The Secret to the World

The Secret to you and

*The Secret to Life

Each section features quotes and lines from *(source IMBD)

Joe Vitale - Metaphysician(as Dr. Joe Vitale MSC.D.)

Loral Langemeier - Financial Strategist

John Hagelin - Quantum Physicist(as Dr. John Hagelin Ph.D A.B. M.A.)

Fred Alan Wolf - Quantum Physicist(as Fred Alan Wolf Ph.D.)

Denis Waitley  - Psychologist(as Dr. Denis Waitley Ph. D) and others

What struck me the most was all these people were not some hippie sorts, infact they are people who have achieved a lot in life, wouldn’t really expect a Quantum Physicist endorse a bunch of Bull-freaking-sh*t at the expense of his reputation right!

My Experience:*

My experience with The Secret has so long been positive. From the day I started reading the book, I have found myself making a conscious effort to think of happy things. If there is some situation that is making me unhappy, I try and focus on the positive. If I am feeling down, I remember any one thing that always makes me happy, and then I start to smile.

To top it off, last weekend, at the carwash, I decided to get the full interior and exterior clean package. With the voucher for the service, the guy handed me a scratch and play ticket. I am not the one to play the lottery, but hey he handed it to me free didn’t he? So I scratched off guess what I won!  Well not worth that many exclamation marks, but I won none the less. For the carwash the bill was$27 and my lottery ticket was worth$34…how cool was that! Not only did they clean my car spic and span they actually gave me back$7…muhahahahaha

Now all I got to do is visualize that Million Dollars!.or maybe its time to ask for that beautiful house that I have been passing by(and drooling on) for 5 years!

Conclusion:*

All and all it is a very inspiring book. It is definitely worth and read. If you are one not to believe in the such matters the book is definitely worth reading coz it teaches you the power of positive thought, and that believe me brings around a huge change.

So let me end where I started(apart from asking you to read the book):

If I asked you about your strongest desire, would you tell me?
