The Sialkot Saga is a business mystery-thriller written by Ashwin Sanghi, one of Indias most popular writers currently. Personally, I am a fan of his writings, as the story is usually fast-paced and gripping.
The book is about Arvind and Arbaaz, both of whom arebusinessmen, and how they lead their lives, striving to become the most influential businessmen of the country. The story is set in the era post Indias independence, and how they use the political end economic instability at that time to progress in their business and what happens when their lives get interconnected, form the story.
As usual, Ashwin has written the book wonderfully. The story-line is gripping. The book alternately travels between the lives of the two protagonists-cum-antagonists. The book gives us clear detail of how the country was during the period just after Independence, the rise and fall of many leading business conglomerates. how they strategically play their game of gaining new business and outwitting their enemies is a treat to read.
The book is about 582 pages long. It is the biggest book written by the author so far. The language is simple to read, and there is no trouble in following the story, though it becomes a bit complex at some stages. The world of politics, mythology, business, bollywood, crime etc is beautifully woven by Ashwin Sanghi. Recommend it to all.Worth Reading
