THE SIXTH SENSE is one of those movies that cant be discussed in too much detail, for the simple reason that if you do, youll unintentionally give away the entire plot. Suffice it to say that within the time period mentioned in the title of this review, Bruce Willis character suffers a violent crime at the hands of a demented individual. Later on in the movie, one learns all the facts of this violent crime.
Although the performance everyone talked about when this movie came out was that of Haley Joel Osment, the one that stood out for me was that of Toni Colette as Osments screen mom. Many of you may remember her from MURIELS WEDDING, where she played something of a nerdy outcast who marries a highly-desired athlete at the behest of his public-relations agent, but in this movie, Colette is hardly a nerd, but a caring mom worried about her sons recent problems. Willis character helps the boy through a rough spot in his life.
This movie is a definite must-see if you have a VCR or DVD player.
