You could practically find nothing in a dying newspaper. The Statesman is nothing that its brand conveys. It is now a flickering lamp in the winds of uncertainty. Terrible people run the company, and even more downtrodden is their work ethics.
Work ethics: terrible to-the-power infinity. They will make your work and simply disappear without payments. After all, that is what you expect from a dying newspaper!
Culture: Authoritarianism backed by favouritism: one person runs the company, virtually. The chelas of that person are second-in-authority. Talent goes for a toss and a choking hierarchy rules the game.
Credibility: The Statesman hardly authors and produces its own content; the so-called newsroom simply runs by republishing stories from news wires such as IANS, ANI and the republication alliance it is in. No creativity, no credibility of journalism-you will get the same news in a dozen of other publications.
Payments: ask any employee, the paper is exploitative at best. Terribly under-standard payments that too if you manage to get one.in most cases, you will be cheated!
Rude: Employees are rude to newcomers, perhaps because theyre threatened by the upgraded talents new employees bring to the table and their small internal bubble of hierarchy is at stake.
VERDICT: if youre reading this review because you have got some hunches about the organisations credibility, authenticity and ethics, then believe me your gut is screaming the truth! Listen to your gut instincts and let this review solidify your resolve. DO NOT JOIN THIS ORG! You deserve better!
