Chennai today(14th April 2008) saw the launch of Times of India Chennai Edition. Towards this, they started collecting subscriptions since Jan/Feb time frame. I had subscribed on behalf of my father Mr. V.K.Chandrasekaran for the Times of India Chennai edition(That was launched today). The subscription was done on Feb 1 2008 vide subscription number 2019326.
I subscribe for TOI, Bangalore mirror and ET in Mysore and hence recommended my dad to change from Deccan Chronicle to TOI. Sadly, I have been subjected to personal humiliation on your behalf as my father now looks right from the start. He did not want to change his paper preference from Deccan Chronicle and agreed to this change to TOI on my recommendation.
Also, as part of the promotion, the subscribers were provided a thermos flask. My dad got a defective gift in a dysfunctional thermos flask. Today, he did not receive the TOI at all at his door step. He is livid. Also, none of the TOI representatives, nor is the sales Agent picking up the phone. Is this the way to make a 75 year old man run around? I tried calling the New Delhi office on behalf of my dad and no response still.
I hope that you will do the needful to regain the confidence that seems to be ebbing out(already has for my dad) in terms of service. My dad has a sane mind to write to you competitive papers about your service. Clearly he is within limits to feel that there is deficiency in service.
