I decided to buy ToI for its news coverage with a good mix of local, national and international news items. Their launch in Chennai with teaser rates were also attractive. Unfortunately off late the paper delivery has stopped happening after serving for almost 8 months.
I live in Kellys, which is part of the city and not suburbs. Still for almost last one month the morning paper was delivered at 8 AM...! When I asked the reason, I was told that the ’paper was delivered late’ to them. After this delayed delivery, for last couple of weeks the paper is not delivered.
When I call up subscription department, they commit that ’it will delivered from tomorrow’ which never happens. When I call them again and tell the same, again the same commitment, without knowing what is going wrong...!
Today (18-Oct-10) when I call up and talk to the subscription help desk, the lady is totally non-committal and more particular to evade my call than to address the problem.
It is shocking to see that a newspaper like ToI is doing such a worst subscription service. I’ve decided to switch newspaper now...! This would become a trend if continued...!
