I had applied for a yearly subscription of Times of India newspaper in Kolkata on 19-Feb-2012. It has been a very unpleasant experience for me as for TWO MONTHS now, I HAVENT RECEIVED THE MONTHLY COUPONS yet. The cheque of Rs390 was debited instantly by you. I am making weekly calls to their customer center 033-39898090. Every week the lady at this number tells that I will receive my coupons within a week, and this is going on for two months now. She says the coupon could not be delivered because it returned back from courier. While signing up for the subscription, their representative reached my house within 2 hours after taking my address on phone. He left with a cheque which was en-cashed in two days. And now they are saying that they cannot find my address!! This is a blatant lie and daylight cheating with your customers.
Their customer service centre is a junk and they wont give a dime to your problem, they are always in a hurry to close the conversation. It will take you a holding period of at least 20-30 minutes before you get to speak to their customer representative in the first place.
I want to ask WHY DO THEY PROMISE SERVICES WHICH THEY CANNOT PROVIDE. They think my hard earned money is easy. Once they take money from their customers, they throw them away to ROT. They have no mechanism to monitor which customers havent received their coupons in spite of payment so that they can expedite the process and save us from harassment. They dont have all these because THEY DONT CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. All they care about his how quickly to debit money from customers bank account.
