The Crimes of India

Unarguably the worst paper one comes across as a newspaper and this is why.

The first 4 pages are full of politics with nothing on governance, economics technology or whatsoever. Whatever available is shitty statements by riff-raff or crude goonda type hanger-ons in parties to get people annoyed, angry and confused. It is obvous all of the stuff is handovers and handouts. The second is to blow up statements of allies and create controversies e.g. statements of Yechury were blown out of context and were resoluble and got resolved in 3 minutes!.

However the TOI took full responsbilitiy in blowing this into a national importance issue that would stall reforms for 5 years, harping - harping - spilling high profile opinion polls etc. WHY ??!?

Zero coverage on Gulf, US elections, international sports etc.

Technology stuff - DUH ! duh ... duhhhhhhhhhh - Maybe this could be called the Times of In-duh-YEAH !

Reporting in the editorial: Always about some crap of TImes view, counterview, polling on silly issues e.g. should sachin startch his undies or his gungies or hang up his socks (all becoz he has a tendonities). Any school kid knows sports injuries are a part of your career and a rest of 3-6 months does you good. The team is strong enough and has good batting strenghts anyway. Ayaaz and similar reporters should be left to smoke their pipes in a closed room and suffocate to death. Good english and mediocre reporting does not substitute for good hard writing skills or coverage on a sport. I wonder if this screwball has ever even run 100 meters ever in his life.

The other writing guys are into crude lobbying for people of questionable talents and skills into the indian team. The worst was having views and opinions of nachena-gaane wallahs, stupid publicity-bhooka page 3 celebrities giving views and opinions on a sport. If one reads the London version of the Times, one can see how poorly this Indian edition compares.

coverage of pakistan - zimbabwe the last couple of days was extremely poor.

Centre-page editorials are meant for ideology guys, speaking tree-worms whose only capability is to show parallels of some issue with dhondu or buddha or krishna or bhisma or christ or any creepy-crawly religious sect leader to make every community feel represented. Basically dumb down every issue to some religious ingot out there. So now every English speaking person is reduced to a BIMARU state IQ level.

Bombay Times ! Ah - this is the ultimate in rolled tissue paper for all armchair types with piles - the colors, snaps and content of this supplement will give a very very good idea. Of course, anyone with money be it a chags bhuj with paeans sung to him with an extremely shady lady writing great stuff about him, or washed out irrelavant actors / actresses who making a virtue of how they helped someone cross the road, or an extremely funny odious gentleman belonging to the advertising line, making agni-parks in clean localities and claiming credit for efforts in this.

The other are washed out PETA - vegans etc. with huge ads saying this is great food. Kinda stupid when even 5th-7th grade school-kids are aware which country has the greatest life expectancy or which states in India has high life expectancies and WHICH DO NOT !!! SO even here, you know at what level this paper has lost credulity.

So if this is the kind of renditions the top-most circulating (yaani ki gol-gol firane wallah) create, then I dread to think what is INFORMED OPINION in India. Small wonder In-duh-yeah shining, opinion polls of these shit-rags and what actually converts into actual votes are so polarized.

TOI knowledge and views on China: frozen around 1965. There are more Mandarin speaking dutchmen in HK - China compared to the even the numbers in the whole of India having a fairly long border with China. And believe me, these Dutch-men are not learning the language just to exchange recipes on Peking ducks, pigtails, making leather or acupuncture.

If u want complete coverage, switch to Asian Age, if u want good business coverage try Business Standard, if you want good bold investigative stuff go for Indian Express, and if u really want good intellectual stuff of the heady kind, I found the southern editions of The Hindu extremely good.

And if u want to read and be representative of the crap value - you can stick to two top leading shit-rags Times of India and The Deccan Herald - HydraBAD edition.
