Exactly what is Bombay Times trying to portray and promote? What kind of a shallow lifestyle? This supplements sole purpose seems to enable morons get even more moronic. It’s almost painful to see otherwise sensible acquaintances read, enjoy and assimilate every word on page three.
Page 3 of this supplement is splashed with news-items like who did what in whose wedding, whose party, which discotheque. Who wore red, who wore black, pink and who blew kisses in the air during a cheek to cheek touch with whom. Now does all this really matter? What’s worse, now these page 3 “news items” have crawled into page 1, page 4 almost everywhere.
We are all supposed to copy these people because they are “successful” and have “arrived in life.” Who are all these people and why should they get written about? Is this a respectable national daily or Stardust? Does life in Bombay begin and end with socialite parties?
It’s simply because of this exceedingly irritating, brain-assaulting supplement that I’m seriously considering switching loyalties from Times of India (which, incidentally we have subscribed to ever since I was a toddler) and to some other daily. Can someone suggest a better alternative please?
