The Times of India, fondly known as the Old Lady of Boribunder is like the endearing grandmother who endorses Himalaya products.
It is conservative at heart but liberal in approach. Yes, it does play safe, but acts like an unrelenting critic. It is diplomatic but not hypocritical.
The dadima of newspapers promotes modern trends and youth culture. It realizes that the only thing constant in this world is change. Be it cosmetic surgeries or a rare editorial overhaul, it keeps pace with the Times.
Obviously some of its policies and practices are not likened by media critics and readers alike. However, the pluses in case of The Times of India far outnumber the minuses.
For me, the newspaper may not provide a complete overview of whats happening in my country. It may miss some core social issues. But to read The Times of India with my morning tea is one habit I am not gonna quit. I supplement my morning appetite for news with others sources...but the primary supplement remains...The Times of India.
