The Town is based on a novel by Chuck Hogan , set in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston. Which, Ben Affleck transforms into big screen which tells the story of Charles town.It is home to bank & resistant car robbers than any where in the world. Ben plays one robber(Doug MacRay), who leads a gang of rubber mask wearing robbers that includes short temper, best friend Jem(Jeremy Renner), driver Gloansy(Slaine) & tech expert Des, despite the fact that they’re also expected to split over a cut of each bank job to old guy who owns flower shop & is gang-boss Fergie(Pete Postlethwaite).
Affleck’s direction is terrific, firmly making stronger his talent as a director after Gone Baby Gone. The action sequences are good, especially a thrilling car chase & a tense shoot out. Ben shows skill, as well as staging a car chase. Ben excel equally on the other side of the camera, giving a strong, compassionate performance. Similarly strong is Renner, he is my favourite not because of Hurt locker before that too I was I am his fan because he reminds me of one guy who used to work for me, the hot head of the group. As the FBI agent on McCray’s heels, Hamm also delivers. Its bound with tight script & excellent dialogues. Funnier, arrogant with the flow of character & script. The heavy boston-accented dialogue is excellent and the script shows up several good lines, like Frawley complaining that “We’ll never get 24 hour surveillance unless one of these idiots converts to Islam”.In custody one inspector says I know your dad & comes Ben’s reply me too.
Affleck’s sophomore behind-the-camera effort doesn’t even act as if to reinvent the wheel. Relatively, it simply treats its collection dynamics & themes with considerate professionalism. Robert Elswit’s cinematography provides the procedures with an attractive shine. Ben’s cast which includes Pete Postlethwaite, Chris Cooper, Titus Welliver & a surprisingly sexy Blake Lively hits a proper balance between grave gravity & out sized flamboyance. Every time it deviates towards the outrageous, Ben as director/co-writer pulls it back to the straight bull’s eye. This is a hard-hitting town thriller that ranks with the best recent efforts in the genre. I am writing mainly about Ben’s director because he is captain of the ship, is because he got perfect star cast for tense thriller, than he directed himself, script is tight, dialogues excellent .Thanks sikander022 I loved his review,
