Ugly truth is a romantic comedy movie which is quite obviously shown regarding the battle of the sex. The story is predictable but yet worth watching as the dialog play is good. The story revolves around a girl named abby(Katherine Heigl) whose always dreaming about the kind of guys she wants and actually believes that men are attracted to women’s nature and behaviour while she’s unaware of the world outside. Abby is a girl finding for true love by going on random blind dates set up by her colleague and trying to find the traits she looks in a man in them, but fails each time.
One night after a blind date abby’s kind of upset and her cat unknownly rolls down her remote and the channel on which mike(gerrad Butler) hosts a talkshow fully laid on verbal testosterone is played on the TV hearing to his absurd assumptions about men abby gets annoys and call him on his show and makes a fool out of herself.
On the same night abby unknownly gets semi-nudely hung upside down on a tree while seeing a guy in towel from her neighbourhood and the same person comes to her resuce. This new fantasy guy of abby’s dream is Colin whose a doctor and abby’s totally goes head over heels for him.
Abby’s morning talk shows ratings were going down and as her saviour her boss appointments mike for adding a bit of spice in the show, seeing mike abby gets fully frustrated and decides to fire him but the unknownly abby and Mike get into a contract in which mike will help abby woo Colin while in return abby wouldn’t fire mike.
In process of making abby the prefect women for guys like Colin and setting them up mike starts falling for abby. While abby also learns some good things about mike’s character.
Then finally when mike get a bigger offer in other company abby’s boss assigns abby the job of convincing mike to reject the offer and still work for them. Abby had plans of having a night with Colin at the hotel and before Colin comes abby and Mike have a sensual kissing part in the elevator after which abby rushes to the room.
While abby is in the room Colin rings the door bell abby assuming it’s mike goes in full swing and is shocked to see Colin. Then mike comes back to the room for abby gets disheartened seeing her and Colin together. Mike leaves and abby tells Colin about the changes she makes in her in order to make Colin like her.
Later abby comes to know that Mike left their show and accepted the offer. Abby gets frustrated and decides to hire another person in place of Mike.
The final scene is at a hot air balloon festival where abby and Mike are sperately present with their respective crews and abby starts instuling the whole men fraternity on which mike without resisting himself goes to her and the get in a converse related to scene at the hotel in which mike tells his feelings to her on which she reacts differently and then there’s happy ending shown.
I rate this movie 3/5 it’s a good movie with some dirty punches.
