This review is specifically for the New Year 2009 party at D Ultimate, the pub and disc on New Link Road, Andheri (W) - across Laxmi Industrial Estate.
The theme for the party was LAS VEGAS, but there are absolutely nothing to resemble the famous city. The theme name was just a pitch to sell tickets - Everybody does that for New Year eve bashes, but most at least try to do up the place for the theme chosen.
Entry was 4k for a couple ... sadly it was money not well spent. The pitch was unlimited drinks, snacks, food. But the bar tenders were COMPLETELY ignoring ALL the customers! It took 15 to 20 minutes of shouting out the order loud at the counter to get just 1 beer!
Yes, it was indeed shameful - this new year eve was spent practically sober! thanks to the Ultimate bartenders. Guess you can’t really blame those guys ... bet the club owners gave them a very limited quantity of beer and alcohol and strict instructions to ensure that they did not serve in a hurry. In the 2.5 hrs I spent here, I managed to get only 2 betters AND the second one was not even cold.
The music was good on the Top Floor, but very badly done on the lower level, where they had set up 2 separate dance floors with 1 speaker each! Yeah, its shocking how cheap this club tried to get by.
The dance floor was filthy dirty by just a few mins past midnight, and the cleanup crew was in no haste to clean up the floor. Many people dropped their drinks that ensured that the ENTIRE top floor was WET and stinking. I left at 1:00 am after it became a bit too much.
