I have been hearing from my friends about “The History Channel” since quite some time. They told me to check out the channel since history always fascinates me (I used to always get low marks when History as a part of S.S. was there as a subject in school). But somehow I never bothered to see the channel. Then one day I was just searching about something on the internet when I came across http://www.thehistorychannel.com. Just clicked on the link and the site began to open.
I waited waited and waited since my internet speed was terribly slow at that time. So all I could see before the connection went down was a half-loaded website in red and black as background colours. But I decided to check it out once again.
Second time the speed was alrite and the site opened. The website is part of “The History Channel” and has some pretty cool things to offer.
The homepage is neatly designed having The History Channel logo at the top. Beneath it are a variety of selections starting from their T.V. listings, V.H.S and DVD collections, historical events Audio and Video Clips (in flash), Discussions about history events, Weekly History Quiz and The History Magazine subscription.
As we move below it the weekly schedule on History Channel can be found out. Next to it are some History Quizzes for which you can register and play one-on-one or single. (Mind you the questions are tough so be prepared).

Want to know what happened on your birthdate in the past?? Select the Birth date and month and you get to select a wide range of topics such as world wars, automation, general interests, entertainment etc. click on the subject and you will come to know what events took place. (on my birthday i.e. 27th August Lord Mountbatten was killed)

Here you get the information about the history of Modern Marvels, history of Holidays, Past Master etc. Past Master is a quiz where in you will be popped up with a variety of questions to achieve your goal.
