Domestic Holidays SUCKS & Cust Service is PATHETIC

Had decided to take a 7D/6N Domestic Holiday to Rajasthan with Thomas cook before entrusting them and going on a Overseas Holiday. And Thanks Goodness for that. The Domestic holiday experience to Rajasthan was so pathetic and the Post Trip Customer Service response also sucked. The problems were




  1. The Online Booking experience was so bad AFTER making the Initial Advance payment. The Customer service is all sweet talk before you had made the Advance payment. There was No Receipt for the payments made neither was the itinerary given till 2 days prior to departure and that too after continuous follow up was done  on Email/Phone.




  2. The Travel planning was pathetic. There were Direct Flights available between Hyderabad-Jaipur and Ahmadabad-Hyderabad. Still we were made to suffer by booking flights that were highly inconvenient and tiresome, and took similar time as an International Destination. Almost 12 hours for the Hyd-Jaipur sector and 15-16 hours for Ahm-Hyd sector.




  3. Accommodation was over promised and Under Delivered. We were promised 3 Star Hotels or better for the trip. And we were put in Hotels that didn’t have a Decent Restaurant too. Forget about 3 Star.




  4. We were accommodated in Hotels that were Veg Only even though we had given preference for Non-Veg. And Rajasthan is famous for its Non-Veg fare. Food is an integral part and parcel of any Holiday vacation. A Vegetarian can eat anything he / she wishes in a Non-Veg Hotel but not the same case for Non-Veg lovers in a Vegetarian Hotel.




  5. The Airport Drop in facility from Udaipur to Ahmedabad costs around Rs 4000-4500 at the most, and still Thomas Cook had the temerity to ask the customer to Pay Rs 6500/- for the same.






They have a so called 3-Tier Escalation mechanism for Customer service and Guess what. All the Escalations are handled by the SAME PERSON whose job is to just BLINDLY refute each and every point raised by a Customer. Why. Because they have already POCKETED THE MONEY.
