The book is filled with side stories, most of which are dreadful and none of them are especially engaging. A highly romanticised narrative of a woman who drowned herself while pregnant with an unborn child was included near the conclusion. How peacefully and sweetly the seas enveloped her. That is the flaw with this book. A tour of some of Englands most dull cities, highly humorous situations interspersed with purple prose, and anything else the author thought would help flesh out the story and be "educational" caught my attention. This could be edited down to an extremely funny book that is just about a third of the length.
