I was part of the 24 Jan 2016 Chadar trek group and had booked through Thrillophillia. The trek organization was a total mess right from the start. Our Group size was 37(Thanks to the 3 absentees!) with 2 guides and 0 safety equipment!, which we later found out was a result of merger of convenience of 3 separate trek groups(Renok, Trip and Thrill and Crazy Peaks).
Everything starting from tents to sleeping bags to food had to be rationed. It was a common sight to see trek group spread across miles, supplies being lost due to inexperienced porters and exodus of porters(Who were asked to sleep under the starts at night). Just after 2 days of Trek we were told that we could not go ahead and had to return, Reason: Chadar not formed well(Which I highly doubt). Also, the guide(From Renok) promised that everyone would get coupons worth the trip fee that could be used for Chadar next year or any other trek within next 2 years.
Guess what! the people who had booked directly through Renok got the coupons equivalent to the trip, Rest of us who booked through thrillophilia got a mail saying they could only give us Rs3000/-(This was after a month of haggling and numerous phone calls to their customer care). This after spending close to 50K on Trek fee, Gears and flights.
