Worst service, fraud company, please do not opt

I have taken a Tikona wireless broadband connection on 11th March 2012 after having a successful demo with their sales person Mr. Rajesh. The plan I selected was ADBB1099, 2 mbps speed, 18 GB usage @ 2 mbps. They have changed the plan now.


My plan was activated on 11th March 2012. I was very satisfied with the speed, connectivity, reliability etc. Suddenly after a week of usage it started giving problem like Very low upload speed. I have called Rajesh couple of times, but he was reluctant to support even though he have committed support when he came for demo.  Ultimately I have called customer support and I was told there is some network upgrading work going on and will be resolved in a week time. I have waited for resolving the same, but there were no solution till end of the month.


Subsequently, I have sent a mail to Tikona customer care with speed test results.


The average speed  was400 kbps whereas the opted speed was 2mbps. This is 20% of the opted speed. As per the TRAI regulation the minimum speed should be 80% of the opted speed, that means I should get 1.6 mbps throughout.  And the upload speed was somewhere 10 to 15 kbps


I got a reply from them mentioning my concern has been forwarded to concerned department. While I was waiting for the issue to be resolved I found another problem, frequent disconnection.  I have sent a mail to them on 7th April 2012 on this regard. But I did not get any reply.


I experienced another problem after sending that mail. I used to get calls from Tikona office number 022-42142300, and when I pick the phone up, no response. It continued for 2-3 days. When I call back no one pick up, and sometimes you get a response that ‘someone will call you back’. I was fed up with their activity and ultimately decided to write to them including their senior officials.There were no result even after sending mail to senior officials too regarding calls from their office, I sent a reminder warning them for referring it to Cyber cell.


Later  I got call from Mr. Sandeep (introduced as Technical head) and assured someone will come to my premises and check connectivity. After 2 days a person came and checked my connection and he said there is some issues in the network. He left and said will come after 2 days. But even after visiting twice he could not resolve the issue. I used to check the connection using ping, The ping gave  result ’request timed out’ so often, I was unable to use any messenger. Skype got disconnected while I was with one of my customtakeouters. I had to take another connection.


After sending these many mails, I got a communication from their Appellate Authority saying they tried to contact me but unable to, absurd. Ultimately I have asked them to disconnect the service and refund me on April 21, 2012. There were no reply from them on the subject, ultimately on June 2nd I got an automated mail saying all the issues are resolved, what  a joke. I do not understand why these people are sending me bill every month adding Rs. 100 as late payment fee. In their terms and conditions, it is clearly mentioned that the ‘subscription amount should be paid in advance’. That means this plan works as a prepaid system. If I do not pay, they should cancel my subscription.


Anyone can understand how reliable the connection was, when you see the upload speed and ping details. When you ping some sites, if you have a good internet connection it will never give a result ‘request timed out’. Most interesting part was ping request to their own server given ‘request timed out’. I have shown the executive another ping using my 3G connection, it never give request timed out. So the issue was with Tikona connection.


Today morning (8th August 2012) I got a call says he call from Mumbai and there is a case filed in Mumbai court, interestingly the call was from a Rajasthan based mobile phone.  Anyway, whatever it may be, I am not going to make any payment to this fraud people. I could only use the connection for 2 weeks.


So my advise to all that, please avoid this fraudulent company.
