Stay Away

This morning tikona threatened me with arrest warrant for no fault of mine!


I got a Tikona broadband connection at my office 4 months back and since then it has been an ordeal. These guys have the worst customer service I have came across. Nobody seems competent enough to understand a technical question. They keep changing the bill amount at random without any explanation.There is one particular guy at the collection center who is extremely rude and behaves like the owner of the company while talking. One month back when I raised a question about extra charges on my account, this guy instead of explaining things to me, started yelling at the top of his voice.


All this was bearable till this morning. Today around 12 noon i got a call from some guy from tikona that there a case has been registered against me in delhi tis hazari court for non payment of tikona bill. And i need to attend the proceedings the next day at the court, failing which tikona will force for a arrest warrant and monetary compensation to the tune of rs 50000/-.


The ridiculous thing was that it was their fault for the non payments. Since the auto generated bills always showed extra and sometimes double the actual due, i preferred paying cheque/cash from my office. I informed their customer care long ago about this mode of payment and at that time they gladly accepted. And i have been paying their agent cheques from office for last 3 months. The problem was their collection agent never came on date and when the due date ran over they charged me late fine! Since the fine was not much i never argued too much with them as i knew it was futile - they would never accept their fault.


The current month due was overdue by 3 weeks during which they called me 5 - 6 times for payment and offered to send agent for collection, and each time i accepted and asked them to send their collection agent. The collection agent never arrived.


This was totally their fault - they should have arranged for people to come over to my place and collect money. Or if that was difficult they should have informed me that they can no longer send someone to collect and i should arrange for alternative measure to pay.


Instead, I got this very very rude call from this guy who was ordering me around, threatening me with dire consequences if i did not pay ( i never said i would not pay!) And started addressing me like "tu eisa kar", "tereko kya bola", "pehle mere baat soon le". Also the amount he quoted was something entirely different from what is due and also diff from what their bill says to be due! Since I already kept aside money for tikona bill (i never objected to payment ever) i followed his instructions and paid the bill online.


God knows what i did to deserve this. Tikona has treated me like a petty criminal for no fault of mine.


Since then I have asked for disconnection at the earlies possible. Do not know how long that will take or what new ordeal they will raise for me. Keeping fingers crossed.
