Timtara - stay away from such cheat & fraud sites

I ordered Samsung CDMA Galaxy POP i559 Mobile Phone on timtara.com via order# 10158347   on 27 December 2011 hoping that it will be delivered around new year eve time, but order status remained "Awaiting Shipment" even after two weeks so I tried to reach their customtakeouter care number without any luck. So I lodged online complaint # 17093 on 10 Jan 2012. There was no reply for that complaint even after waiting for four days. So here I was, order not shipped after 18 days of wait, customtakeouter service number always unreachable, online complaint not attended to even after 4 working days. I resent reminders to their customtakeouter service again multiple times, and the only answer given was "we have forwarded your complaint to concerned team and they will follow up in 48 hours" and as expected there was no follow up. One day I got lucky and managed to talk to one lady on customtakeouter service number after 10 retries, she promised that item will be delivered by 18th Jan 2012. Item was obviously not dispatched even after waiting till 21st Jan. I was never lucky enough to be able to talk to customtakeouter service number, the customtakeouter service line is always busy or it is disconnected from their side. I gave last try by sending email that I am going to follow up with complaint in consumer court, then "Raja Singh"(raja@timtara.com) replied within couple of hours that item will be shipped within four working days or they can cancel the order. I have waited till 31st Jan and expected delivery date is still not given despite multiple email reminders.


Do not fall in trap of gift coupons or discount offers from sites like timtara, you will waste your precious time following up with them for delivery of the item. They will never deliver the item as they do not even have that item. I am hoping that I shall get refund of the money by following up in consumer court.


Sites like timtara.com have made me rethink about whole e-commerce model in India.


Update on June 14 - I kept on sending emails to them on weekly basis for next six weeks to cancel the order, they just kept on promising to deliver the item that week. Finally, they cancelled the order after two and half months but lo and behold it was stuck in "refund pending" state forever afterwards. While cancelling the order, they had promised that money will be refunded in next four five days but nothing happened despite sending another six weekly reminders. So first they do not deliver the product for over 2 months, then take another 1.5 months to cancel the order & then never refund the amount despite weekly reminders for next 2 months. After 5 months, I simply sent a dispute farm along with email chain with timtara to my credit card company(citibank) stating that I did not receive the service in due time, and they immediately credited the amount.


Lesson learnt, immediately dispute the transaction with your credit card company if site does not deliver the product in a month or so. Filing dispute farm with citibank helped me recover the amount from timtara after wasting five months on writing emails weekly to timtara customtakeouter nosupport.
